About

Welcome! I’m here to blog about two of the most important things in life: reading and eating! There are so many great books to read and fun things to make. For the purpose of distinguishing between these two creative outlets: NovElla is the reader in me, while Banannabelle is the baker.

NovElla

As the writer of a book blog, I already know the most important thing you’re asking: what kind of books do I like? My favorite book is The Lord of the Rings—why pick just one of them when Tolkien wanted the story published as a single tome anyway? Fantasy is my favorite genre, but I’ll read just about anything that has words. I also enjoy the works of Jane Austen, William Shakespeare, and Alexandre Dumas. I’m excited to share my thoughts on books, reading, and literature in general!

Banannabelle

I’m also into healthy eating, especially when it’s gluten-free, corn-free, and casein-free. I like to create healthy, home-made versions of my favorite treats. What’s better than delicious, super-nutritious fare to fuel your reading adventures?

    1. It’s always fun to discover a ‘kindred spirit’! Louisa May Alcott is a favorite of mine as well 🙂 ; Right now I’m reading some of her early works.

My favorite Austen is Pride and Prejudice — but I like them all!! Shakespeare is more difficult to pick… probably A Midsummer Night’s Dream. I’m going to see it (again!) as an outdoor play next month.

      Thanks for commenting!

      1. I love P&P 🙂 I could read that every year… Admittedly though Persuasion has become my favorite Austen. Ohhhhh A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a fun play to see outdoors have a great time! My favorite Shakespeare is Much ado about nothing (that one’s a bit obvious hey ;)).

        1. That’s really interesting! I’ve actually found that for Jane Austen retellings, I like the ones related to Persuasion the best.

Thanks 🙂 I’m excited to see the play. This same group did a really good As You Like It a couple of years ago. Much Ado about Nothing is a great one too; I hope they do it next.
